Giovani Verdejo, also known as “Gio,” was born in Mexico City and relocated to Napa Valley with his family during his youth. He developed a deep passion for the wine industry and pursued his interest by studying enology at both Napa Valley College and UC Davis. This marked the beginning of his wine career.
Giovani has over 22 years of experience in the industry, renowned for his exceptional palate and visionary approach to premium winemaking. With a strong work ethic and a dedication to his craft, Giovani quickly rose through the ranks at Foley Family Wines and honed his skills in all aspects of winemaking. His attention to detail, combined with an innate sense of intuition, allowed him to produce some of the most exceptional wines in the industry.
Giovani’s areas of expertise include handcrafting luxury Bordeaux and Rhone wines that have consistently garnered 90+ ratings from esteemed wine critics. His ability to balance fruit and tannins, along with his mastery of the aging process, and his diversified experience working with other varietals has earned him a reputation as one of the most talented winemakers in California.
